(Vancouver, BC): For the past 11 years, Insurance-Canada.ca has highlighted and recognized the innovative use of technology in the insurance industry. On March 18, 2013, Square One won the award in the Distributors category for its home insurance system.
Square One’s system integrates customer relationship management, policy management and billing, and claims management. Through the company’s website, customers can use this interactive system to get real-time quotes. Customer can also buy and manage their policies online.
Since launching the site, 70% of overall quoting activity is performed by customers online. Because the site is tightly integrated with the employee user interface, even those customers that choose to get a quote over the phone can review their quote and complete the sale online. This sales mix, combined with the system’s paperless workflow, integration with third party services for data retrieval and payment processing, allow for unprecedented efficiency and scalability for Square One.
Jason Vander Zalm, Square One’s vice president of information technology, states, “We’ve made big investments to effectively integrate all of our sales channels – online, web chat, phone, and in-person. While developing a web-based policy management system from scratch was a big undertaking, we knew it was the best way to execute our strategy and to showcase our unique home insurance offering. The ICTA was a great affirmation of our approach and it highlights that amazing things can be accomplished by a small team of superstars.”
